Almost every question about sun protection in sport gets answered with guidance written for swimming. Sweat behaves differently, fails differently, and needs a different plan.

No other sport holds a body in one position for so long. That is what makes cycling's exposure map so sharply defined and so consistently misjudged.
It is not classified as sport, it happens at the worst hours, it lasts all afternoon, and the posture presents the worst possible surfaces. Gardening is the quiet outlier.
